Common Faults of Lathe and Countermeasures(1)

CNC lathe controls the longitudinal and transverse feeding devices and tool changing devices of the machine tool through the control program to automatically complete the processing of parts. Therefore, in case of failure, it is necessary to comprehensively analyze the mechanical structure and electrical control of the machine tool to find solutions.   1. After the program runs, the servo motor jitters and does not rotate.

 

This is generally caused by the open phase of the servo motor or its control system. It may be the fault of the servo motor itself or its driving circuit. First, check whether the connecting plug of the servo motor is in good contact. If it is in good contact, replace the motor without fault to verify whether the motor is in good condition. If the motor still cannot work normally after replacement, it indicates that its control part is abnormal. You can focus on checking the drive board, motor power line, and signal feedback connecting line.

 

  1. The workbench suddenly stops when the program is running.

 

This phenomenon is generally caused by mechanical failure, but it may also be caused by the failure of the control system. At this time, you can first return the workbench to the original point and restart the processing program. If the workbench always stops when it runs to a certain position, it should be that a part of the transmission system is damaged, deformed, or stuck by foreign matters. First, cut off the power, and then check whether the gap between the screw nut and the lead screw or the slide plate insert is too tight, whether there is foreign matter in the ball guide groove of the ball screw, and whether the lead screw is bent and deformed, whether the flexible gear in the servo motor reducer is loose or foreign matter is stuck, etc. If the manual barring is normal, it is the control system fault, and it should be checked according to fault 1.

 

  1. Servo motor loses step at high speed.

 

It may be that the driving power supply voltage decreases, which reduces the output torque of the servo motor. The driving power supply shall be mainly checked. When the servo driver is damaged, the high-voltage power supply cannot be connected, the output torque of the servo motor decreases, and the step is lost at high speed. There may also be a mechanical failure somewhere, so you should also check the lead screw, nut, slide, servo motor reducer, etc. When there are parts bent, deformed, or foreign objects, the running resistance will increase. The phenomenon is not obvious at low speed, but it cannot completely overcome the running resistance at high speed.
